Engine light code 42 question
This is for a 1990. Just a couple days ago as Id drive home, the service engline light would come on and stay on after a brief but noticeable loss in power from the gas pedal. It would happen after a short while of driving. I had it taken in for transmission service/filter change/flush(yearly) and they checked the code. 42 was coming back for electronic spark timing problem. Is this typically the Ignition control module? Also I noticed the courtesy lights started flashing when I started up the car with a brief click sound and everytime I hit the brakes while I drove after they had the car. Then the same interior courtesy lights(on the doors) would stay on while Im driving and wouldn't shut off so I pulled the courtesy light fuse. Any ideas what that was from?
