HELP ME OUT ,,PLEAASE ,,,, left outside tail light,, I was told to access from underneath????Just tried that.... o I need to remove left rear insde fender?? BE GENTLE ,,i,M A NEW GUY...
Just like the picture shows, there are two 10mm screws that hold the taillight in, remove the inner lens to got to the outer. You can reach thru the inner opening & remove the outer bulb socket. License plate & backup light have to be removed too, that's as gentle as I can be.

year? remove for what, bulb? assembly?
size it up, so to speak. if you think you should remove the inner fender, it's simple and a few minutes job, -PLUS removing the tire! torx 15 and or 25, from memory of the 91. or allen wrench. the torque is in inch pounds, maybe 15, a wrist twist.
91 fsm says remove license plate and bracket* to access inner light, access outer thru inner opening.

That is the best way to get to the tail light assemblies. Small hand and small arms will help here but just in case, have bandaids ready and keep the kids in the house so they won't hear the words you will call the car and the engineers.....
You might want to consider doing all 4 lights, even if the other 3 are still working. When the assemblies were installed at the factory, the workers used a dielectric grease in the lamp socket to stop any corrosion. Over the years, if the bulb never had to be changed, the grease has dried out. You may find that the old bulb will break when you try to remove it and you will have to use needle-nose pliers to get the brass base out.
Get 4 new Sylvania 1157LL bulbs and a small tube of dielectric grease. The "LL" stands for Long Life" Remove all the lamp assemblies and pull the existing bulbs. Clean up the sockets and scape any old grease or corrosion from the contacts. Apply new grease and install the new bulbs.
It will also be a good time to clean out the lamp housings. When I did my 87 rear lights, I poured in a mix of warm water and Dawn dishsoap and shook the lamp housing to dissolve the dirt. Rinse well and let them air dry. You can also polish the lens to make them look shiny and new. Clean out the recesses in facia and apply some wax and re-install the housings. Can't hurt to clean out the backup lamp assemblies and the license plate light.
