Default 92 AC questions

Hey guys I have a few questions about the AC on a 92.

The Climate Control unit is giving me a code for low/no freon so I need to get the thing recharged.

1) Was the 92 R12 or R134 from the factory?

2) If it was R12 and has been updated to R134, how can you tell?

3) If it's still R12, how hard it is to update to R134?

Thanks for the help.

1. the 92 came with r12
2. if it has been converted the charging ports will be larger and will not accept an r12 fitting on the charging hose.
3. converting..lots of opinions on this..mine is that the whole system needs to be changed..hoses, seals, etc..oil..orifice.
4. r`12 can be bought so if you can fix the system..it will cool better than 134.

I was in a NAPA store the other day and saw a conversion kit from R-12 to R-134 for $56.00. I have a 92 the air is still good but it sounds like this conversion would be ok.
