Greetings!!!! I have a 90 convert with 135k and smokes ect.
Is it better to have the engine re-built or just do a crate engine.

If you know the engines history a rebuilt might work. If not replace it.

It depends on what the smoke is and where you want to go with the car.
Honestly, I think the best bang for your buck is to pull the motor and do a 383 stroker kit. That's if the block is in good shape.
Stroker kit, new heads, siamese the intake, port and polish everything and throw a nice exhaust.
Some trans work while your at it.
