Looks great! It sucks when someone does a project like that and then doesn't finish it. I would paint it black. It will make it stand out and draw a little more attention. I have seen people vent the sides of a scoop like this to draw out hot air, but never on a C4. Mull it over. Do it carefully though. Uneven vents would make it look worse than it did before.

Thanks.
There was a lot of 'screw ups' on this car. This was just one of them.
Yeah. I'm really torn on whether to paint it black again or not but it was kinda eye catching before.
As far as venting, it's a functional scoop.
My engine has a Carb and the scoop is a Ram Air mini L88.
I don't like the black. Stay white and maybe black stripes just on the side of the scoop and left side hash marks.
I don't mind the black, but i think that "aminnich" has a very good thought about accenting the scoop with maybe a double line pin-stripping to make the scoop stand out, but not make it look too overly eye catching!!
Can you photoshop the pin-stripping? Then we can see what that looks like!

Good job on the hood though!
Chris
I need to get some better pictures before I can attempt to photo shop it.
The sun was really bright, and it's hard to make out the outline of the scoop.
Highlights would probably look good. Or I had even thought of painting a red hood stripe down the middle with the two pin stripes on each side, from the bottom of the front bumper cover, up over the top to the rear cover.
I still need to do a little touch up sanding before I put the final color on.
I want to wait and see what it looks like with 'shiny' paint before I decide what to do.
With the new wheels and the hood finally coming into shape, it's like a whole new car!
Thanks for the compliments.

It did make me a little anxious starting the cuts today. Strange how this was scarier than pulling/upgrading the motor and retrofitting the T5. I had to shape and cut things that are on the "outside" of the vette his time. Everybody can see this all the time - no pressure.
I have been kicking around paint schemes and such now that it is the body's turn and I really like the Baldwin-Motion stuff and the Z06X scheme. Either one complements the scoop (at least to me). Of course I seem to change my mind daily....
I vote for white. Vette's don't need contrasting colors to look great, or stand out, everyone already knows they are the most beautiful sports car made, (sorry guys for the chick word). Monocromatic with a hint of color in detail is what makes them so very classy. Leave the flashy to the pace cars. Bet
