Your weatherstripping has probably become flat and is not longer holding the top solid. I had the same problem with my Targa top before. Replace weather stripping. I just saw a post about Wilcox having a sale.
Weatherstripping does get hard and will flatten some. Have you tried putting a very light coat of dielectric grease on the weatherstripping? That helps to keep the rubber soft and prevents a lot of the drying out.
Another possibility is not installing the top correctly or not tightening the bolts. Do you have the factory install instructions??

The car was garaged, but I think the weather strip is probably old, the seals on the rest of the car are in good shape, so I did not suspect the hardtop area. I will look into removing the top and inspecting the weather strip.

What is the full name for Wilcox? I did a google search on Wilcox and had no luck finding them?
When I put my hardtop on in the fall, I
drive it for a week and then tighten all
the bolts again, it is amazing how much
more you can turn them. Try that also.
