Looking for some good shocks. My vette has 88,000 on it and i think it is time for new shocks. Has kind of a float condition a couple of times will i was getting in to it on a couple of the roads on my way home they have some dips and when going over them fast the front end kind of floats little spookyto say the least. I have push down on the front it doesnt seem bad at all. They dont seemed to have leaked out. And the are stock socks. I am the second owner of this car it is in very good condition. So wondering what anybody can give me info on some good shocks that dont cost a bundle. Thanks
Put KYB shocks on my 85. Only has 57,000 miles but with them almost 27 years old figured the bliskens needed to be changed out. Change in handling and ride awesome. Very happy with the KYB's.
For my '95, I went with the 4 pack of Bilstein shocks from Ecklers or someone equivalent. I have the FE1 (base) suspension and was feeling the same thing, kind of a loose, float feeling at higher speeds. The new shocks helped a little, but not as much as I was hoping.
Check your front sway bar. You might have gotten a 24mm instead of a 26mm from the factory. I did. I put a used 26mm on and that helped even more. If I had to do it again, I would just get a new 32mm from one of the vendors like VB&P.
