After waiting all summer and spring for the County Highway to come back and fix our road that they destroyed this spring, they are FINALLY putting down some VERY cheap asphalt! This stuff is so soft (hours after being laid down and rolled ) that it is spongy to walk on. I know I'm a BIG boy, but not THAT big!
Anyways, I think I will leave the vette and the 'rado in the garage and drive the hated minivan today until most of the stray chunks of left over asphalt are blown off the road.
BTW: In my past life I worked for the Mat'ls and Test Division of the highway. Trust me when I say this is awful asphalt!
Man that sucks and it seems like if they are going to fix it just do it right the first time or it's going to cost more in the long run.
Yeah, but that makes sense. And they don't wanna do that!
I used to say that they couldn't make sense.
But the wife pointed out that they can make sense. They just don't want to!

Reason: fumble fingers!
Hope you get to enjoy your vette soon before the summer is gone. After seeing your predicament it makes me thankful that I can drive mine nearly everyday. Good luck
I think it gets subed out so many times that after everybody gets their little cut, there's just enough money left to buy a bucket of asphalt and a flat bottomed sandal to stomp it down. Makes me mad as hell when they ruin a good road by repaving it with chunky rocks and a coat of tar!

Yeah, but it will be better than the craters we had, I guess. But not by much!
They stopped just past my house for the week. That leaves a BUNCH of sticky tar coated rocks lying around. I drove the hated minivan the last two days, but took the silverado out today. The wife has been sick with a summer cold all week and finally felt good enough to go out to eat. (I guess my Campbell's soup has worn thin! )
