Targa storage mount covers
Okay, this is killing me. I'm in the middle of an interior rebuild and I'm looking over all my parts while waiting for my carpet adhesive to get in (my dad shipped it on Wednesday) and my security system so my s*** doesn't get stolen out of THIS car too! Tons of new and refurbished and more on the way. I'm just imagining how nice it will be to have a complete car again!
Then I see the covers for the Targa storage mounts. I HATE these things. I know that if you are careful they can last for ever. Unfortunately, I guess I'm just not that careful. I'm on my 3rd set, one is cracked and one is just broken. So I had this CRAZY idea. I replaced a couple of panels in my 99 Ford Ranger with brushed steel plates. They looked great and no one could break them no matter how drunk and stupid they were being in the back seats.
Just some background, it was an XLT and had a pair of the tiny b***h seats in the back.
Anyways, I was wondering about this and how sweet it would look to build a couple of the brackets out of brushed or diamond plate steel! Does anyone know of a company that does this? Or try it out themselves?
