Hey all, my buddy just picked up this motor and we can't find anything on it as to what it came out of, we've googled the numbers but nothing of any help other than it's an LT-1 from 94-96.
Anyone have any ideas?

The numbers are as follows:
10125327
327
H-8
588

These are the only numbers on the motor. Any help would be great.

OK, I'll try.

The 327 on the block indicates that it is a LT1

If there is a vent on the Optispark then it is a 95 or a 96. If no vent then it's a 94.

If the timing cover has a crankshaft position sensor then it's a 96

If the heads are Cast iron it's from a Chevy Caprice or an Impala SS 1994-1996.

Aluminum heads it will be from a F-body or a Vette.

4 bolt mains it will be a Vette engine.

Hopefully some sequence of the above will tell you what it is.

Default LT1 info

Did your block have a VIN # stamp on it? I bought a 95 LT1 a while back and it didn't have a VIN# at all, come to find out, it was a GM replacement warranty engine, four bolt Main to boot!
Have a good one!
