I wanted to know what would be a good product to remove "water spots?" The other day I was waxing my car and noticed on the rear there were spots. I tried rubbing them out but; with no luck. You can't tell unless you look a certain way but; I know they are there. I was just looking for some input on products so I won't hurt the paint.
whatever you do, start with the mildest abrasive product you can find. re-wash the car first, and when you're drying the car, use a water/white vinegar solution (1 cup/gallon) and wipe down each panel before drying. i would clay the car first, and if you still have the original water spots, try a cleaner wax. my preference - mother's carnauba cleaner wax. if that doesn't cut it, try Maguirer's, swirl remover. if that ain't cutting it, and i can't see how or why you would still have water spots, go to Maguirer's fine cut cleaner. again, use the mildest product to get the job done.
How easy they come off depends on how long they've been there.
Try washing, the vinegar solution, cleaner wax.
If none of those work, you're probably going to have to get a polish or compound. M105(compound) and M205(polish) work very well if you can get them locally.
