I've got OBX headers on my C5 and love em, maybe time to install them on the '89, Anybody personally installed them? Any problems, tricks or pointers for us DIY's

Anyone use High Flow Cats with the OBX's? I don't want to run my 95' w/o Cats

Getting ready to install mine and was wondering if the bolt up to the stock exhaust w/o any welding????

What size collectors did you get. I know when I got mine for my 95 vette they were 2.5 inch... I think. Stock exhaust is 3 inch... so I don't think so but whats an epic open header run to the local exhaust shop. haha

I'm pretty sure the "lead pipes" or whatever coming off the headers are 2.5in. Not sure what stock size is since I had my entire exhaust replaced at the time of installation of the headers. If anything you could get couplers to make it work I'm sure.

If you are concerned about transmission temps you can always get a trans cooler.If you had a gauge before this was installed then you could see if there is any higher readings after the install
