My stepfather has asked me to replace the shocks on his 96 Grand Sport with base suspension. He says the car is bouncing too much. He is street only so i'm thinking he really wants something that rides a bit softer as he's into his 70's and has back issues. I have read lots of old posts and already recommended the Bilsteins, however a friend of his has recommended the koni's. I recall from a non-corvette car that the Koni's even on full soft were VERY stiff. Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
I like my KYB's. I think they are a little softer than the stock Bilsteins. Your step dad has to remember its a sports car tho and it will have a bit of a harsh ride. Course if its actually bouncing as you describe its definitely time for a change and any improvement will be very noticeable.
KYBs would be a nice shock for the situation you have described.
People speaks very good about KYB. Im more into pulling Gs so Bilsteins HD is my choice. I have Bilstein HD on Betty Boop and QA1 Dual Adjustable Coil Overs on The Ghost.
