I have a 92 and don't have it, from what I hear I guess I'm lucky.
Why do you say that?
I have a '96 and the PKE fob works flawlessly. It unlocks the car and the alarm every time I walk up to it, and locks it and arms the alarm every time I walk away from it. I never have to touch it.

16 yrs & has never burped. Wish I had in my other cars.
I agree.
It even unlocks the Vette doors (immediately) if you hit your door lock button and then close your car door with your keys left in the ignition.

There's nothing not to like about it.
even if it times out from being immobile(battery saving feature), all you have to do is rock your car with the keys inside and it will wake up and unlock.
I liked mine when I had a car with it. you just have to have healthy door switches or it will stop locking the doors when you walk away. Good thing it is mechanical and really loud.
Still not as slick as a C6, because eventually you still have to pull the thing out of your pocket to unlock the column.
well the down side is that sometimes the module goes bad..... like mine. so i use the key to lock and unlock the doors. if i leave them unlocked and open the door after 5 minutes the alarm goes off and then the only way to turn it off is to stick a key in a hole.... (not like that)
My module also went bad but I had it replaced with a used module. It works, but I turned it off and use the key. One of the issues with the FOB is the drain on the internal 3v battery. Anything below 3 volts causes weird things to happen such as not working at all, and when you measure the voltage, you think that 3v should be enough. Not so.
If you plan to use it, my suggestion for longer batter life is to take your FOB and place it where it won't move around. Don't leave it in your pocket. That is how the battery gets drained every time you move the little ball bearing inside transmits.

just out of curiosity where did you get your used module? how much was it? and was it as much of a B as i've heard?
