Default '90 left Side Window Switch

Never noticed my FSM has "Electrical diagrams under a separate cover." I cannot find a diagram and search turns up very old, dead links here. In a nutshell, both windows goe up just fine but left side only goes down abt an inch at a time, providing there is sufficient time between attempts. Perfect for running into that sudden rain squall!

Anyway, is there a source for the wiring into the left side switch? Would rather test that before taking door panel off. Any help appreciated.... -K

Well, you're not alone, my '92 has a similar issue. It will go up about 3/4 of the way and stop, and resist further attempts to raise it. If you shut off the car, go inside, and come out 10 minutes later, bingo! up it goes.

Thought I had it solved, the guy who parked next to me at Carlisle suggested the small pads which control the flex were too tight, making it hard for the window to go up - overheating the motor and making a temperature relay trip. However, I adjusted them as loose as they go to confirm, and it didn't change anything. Those relays BTW live in the fuse box.

To make matters worse, there is ONE motor which apparently is not available as an aftermarket replacement, and I THINK that's the one.

I'm thinking of replacing the relay in case it's getting bad, have not done any homework yet but doubt it's too much money. Usually it's not a good idea to throw parts at it instead of scientific research but if the relay is cheap enough I might go that route.

Good luck with it and let us know how you make out if you get into actually doing anything on it.
