I rotate DD duty between my 91 and 79. There's no reason to have something so nice and not use it. I'll drive them until they break, and fix them right up again. Regular maintenance will make these cars last a lifetime, so you won't need to restore it all at once in a few decades.
Life is short, so enjoy it like it's your last day, every day.

My C4 is in DD rotation with my other Vettes. BUT I didn't get them out until June this year and within a month they will probably go back in for the winter

I'm even thinking of getting a C6 but never get rid of the C4.
I did it just the opposite. C6 then a C4. Love to drive them both. Now my 17 yo son is driving the 85 daily. I spent the last year changing out almost everything. Should be a great DD for him and I want to drive it some also.

If you can go ahead and get a C6, they are great cars. 74k on my 07 with no problems. Have 112k on the 85.

I recently bought a one-owner 24,000 mile '96 CE in excellent condition.
I really appreciate that the previous owner only put about 1600 miles a year on the car and kept it in his garage more than he drove it, so 15 years later, I could end up with a '96 Vette that feels like a new car that's just been broken in.

Now that I have it, I drive it and enjoy it, instead of mostly not driving it and saving the mileage for some other guy 15 years from now.
I do keep it washed, waxed, vacuumed and detail cleaned, and keep it parked in the garage when I'm home, but I drive it to work each day (parked in a parking structure away from other cars), I run errands in it, etc.

I really enjoy driving it, and fortunately, I live in a climate where I can drive it year-round without regard to the weather.

Regards,
-Ward

My last car was a DD-rain, whatever, but I have a low mileage garage queen this time around so i only bring it out when the sun isn't blaring for an evening drive.
