Any info and ideas would be great !
There arent many manufacturers of interior replacements. Corvette America mostly is the one suppliers to all the retailers. They are decent quality for the most part. When you get your parts in go over them with a fine tooth comb before your return period expires. Pay attention to the back side of door panels where they slip down over the top of the door. Make sure there is an ample lip to catch the door and there is a space between the lip and the defrost venting. Mine were pretty shabby.Seats you have a couple of more makers and price ranges. CA is in there, there are one or two chinese versions on the 'Bay and Al Knockt(sp?) is on the high end for best quality I have read here. The PO of my car put pleathure seats in mine, cheap but seem really durable without the wrinkling and cracking like leather.
Do a lot of reading, call the retailers to find out who supplies them, set your budget and get crackin!
Good luck!
The big question is how you want do do it. Keep it stock? Well, you can get just the covers and install them yourself/have them installed. You can also get the completed seats that are pre-mounted on new foam. You can also get some racing bucket seats. I'm looking at the Corbau A4s which are skinny enough to fit in a Corvette. HlhnEast mentioned a couple of others.
As for doors, you are probably going to have to get those new. They are a bit pricy. If you can find some at a junkyard that are in good shape, you can usually do some minor repairs to them and make them look great. Corvette Recycling may be able to help you out too. I haven't really worked with them too much, but from what I hear they have a lot of stuff.
Weatherstripping and carpet are 2 things that are VERY easy to find and fairly easy to install....kinda.... I paid about 600 bucks for carpet front to back. The weatherstripping is cheaper, and I suggest you put that in FIRST so you don't end up ruining your new carpet with water damage. Get ready for a very dirty, grimy and sweaty time putting the carpet in. Get some good scrapers and adhesive remover. You'll need it.
I'm also replacing a lot of my trim. If you go to the "parts for sale" area of the C4 section in this forum, there are people who are parting out their cars and selling some great pieces. If you do this, get some plastic/vinyl dye for whatever color you want. Works great and lasts a long time. NOT PAINT!!! Get the dye. Paint will scratch off, dye becomes part of the plastic.
Look through the sites I mentioned above. Start sending e-mails and you should be able to get just about every part you could ever need. Everything from a new dash to replacement covers for the targa storage mounts.
Have fun, take your time, and turn THE car into YOUR car.
