I had to run out and check mine before i put my foot in my mouth...
Actually at the TOP of the box, if you're holding it upside-down to look inside, there is an outer narrow one and the inner one is a flatter, wider seal. I assume it is the wider you refer to? It seats against the air cleaner rubber. They might be hard or impossible to find. I suggest going to Big Five and check out the cheapest thinnest sleeping bag foam mat-it's about the right thickness. Cut it so it fits in there and there's still room to trim it down to the right size. Once the box is tightened down, I don't believe you'll have any leaks.
Both mine are ok but my neighbour's thin seal was rotted out on his 84, so I used a piece of the right-sized vacuum hose to fill it in. Been good for 4 years.

Any sporting goods store should have those roll-up sleeping mats and the cheap ones look close to the right thickness. Either foam or rubber. Flat weatherstripping might work if the thickness is right. I suggested a flat mat as flat weatherstripping may be hard to bend into the required curves needed without twisting or curling. Just cut the shaped pattern out of the mat. All it does is provide a seal for the top of the air filter to the box lid.
