Dash light ?

Thank you for replying; I should be glad if it is a bulb and not an LED. I was reading about sending your dash display into Corvette Central for repair.....that is a bit costly.
I hope someone will advise me on doing the dash removal/bulb replacement.....

I didn't even know they used any LEDs in this car.Bulbs are easy. LEDs rarely go bad anyways. If one does, I can fix it. The worst an LED replacement can be is removal and resoldering. I do that for a living.

FWIW, the bulbs are GE 882X or GE 18167's. I thought I ordered the correct ones (2 different places) off the internet and am still looking. First (ebay)was supposedly for 86 thru 89 but were actually for the 89 - earlier are bi-pin vs. wedge base for 89. next I ordered xenon type per someone elses recommend on the forum, and the lamp is too long by 1/4". The specs are 5W, 12V, T2-1/4, bi-pin, OAL ~1.00 inch. I will try the local auto parts as others seem to have found them. Inst Panel is very easy to remove per Goldcyclon's link.
