I am interested in purchasing the Vietnam/Corvette patch that I recently read about on the forum. It is a great idea for those of us who served in that campaign and own corvettes. If anyone knows a web site where I can contact the manufacture of these I would greatly appreciate it, thanks so much.
Maybe your state has a VN vet license plate. When I moved out here from VA I had to plate the vehicles in CA, and at the DMV they asked me if I wanted a veteran's plate (can't remember if it was VN-specific). I thought that was a nice gesture, until I learned that it would cost me $10 EXTRA.
The thanks of a grateful nation.....I was touched. But not $10 worth.

We VN vets will never get any respect. It was a sign of the times back then and California really didn't like us. Thank God the country is now treating our armed forces with respect and honor.
I like the patch idea. It may bring us together just a little bit. And help us remember those who gave everything over there.
kinda off subject...I was sent down to Siagon , for a week, to see a doc. being I was a crew chief/gunner on a huey, I teamed up with a shithook crewchief to go play tourist. A block or so from the Presidental palace, there sat a (freshly painted) marina blue 61 or 2 vette,,cant remember now. That was in april of 72. There have been rumors of sighting of this vette,,but I believe at the time, it was white.(before 72). Be a trip to go oveer there and find the darn thing..along with all those harleys the cops drove in Siagon..bet there just sitting somewhere begging for parts.

I saw a 63 silver coupe over there in late 1968. Can't remember if I saw it on the road between Long Binh and VunTau or in Saigon.
Saw a couple of mustangs while there too. Probably owned by PA&E honchos.
I was stationed at Long Binh at USARV Hqs (great duty). There was a transportation company there that drove Chevy sedans for the big wigs. Many of them were 65/66 Chevy Impala 4 doors that the drivers had hopped up during their tours. Most were 283s with 3 speed stick shifts. Their OD paint jobs were very shiny with many of them sporting Hurst floor shifts, chrome wheels, chrome valve covers along with aftermarket intakes and Holley 4bbl carbs. They all seemed to ba air conditioned. Long Binh was a huge base and the drivers liked to brag about taking some of the WACs out for a little recreational lovemaking in some of the lesser travelled areas!
