I have nothing against custom jobs on vettes. Not for my car but others look ok. I thought I never saw a Vette a did not like until I saw that "77 disgrace. It should not qualify as a Vette any longer.
Individuality by definition is a personal thing, l'm not sure everyone agrees. Not caring what others think to follow your own path is better than doing what everyone else does just to fit in IMHO.
Last week I was having a car emissions-tested. A guy with a early C4 had been failed and was argueing with the tech. Getting a little closer, I saw what the deal was: Somebody had changed the induction system and placed a carburetor and intake (or changed the entire engine). Needless to say, it wasn't "factory stock" (which the emissions ***** are well known for loving).
The ower of said piece of automotive excellence was screaming that it was an ultra-rare 1983 Corvette - "built before they put all that computer-crap in cars".
The car looked like it spent most of its time on the farm, and not in a good way. Needless to say, it failed. I'm expecting to see it pop up on Craigslist any day now.
yeah its uggly but it seems the owner intended it that way.
He doesnt really refer to the car as a vette, but more a rat rod which i think he accomplished well.
