Default is it normal?

ok guys. ive had the vette for 2 months now. worked out a few bugs.... in the middle of replacing the heater core now. but today i noticed something. hoping that its only bushings.

so my drivers rear tire has a ton of camber. none of the others just that one. it sits at the right height and rides fairly smooth. im planning on doing bushings this winter. can they wait that long? or do i need to do it now?

gotta admit. i HATE when people dont take care of their cars...... then i'm stuck doing 16 years of neglected maintenance...... and im in college!!!!!

The vette had left and right camber adjust bolts, if they were not torqued correctly they can come loose.(has happened to me before after an alignment)
They are at the bottom corner of the diff carrier assy, follow the spindle support rod one side is at bottom of the knuckle and goes to the diff carrier assy it has a offset bolt that allows adjustment.
You should be able to check by checking with a spanner, it may have obvious scuffing from movement.
It is always a good idea that if some bushings are worn to replace the lot and be done with it for 10+ years and get a wheel alignment.

Ps i purchased my vette and drove it for 10 years without a problem till i started modifying it.

What is even more of a hoot is that they are often the same people who brag about what a great deal they got when they made the purchase.

That happened to me as well after an alignment. I only noticed it when the one tire started to wear on the inboard side. If you are not going todrive it much between now and when you plan to deal with it, just leave it. However, too many miles and your tire will wear unevenly. (Tires cost a whole lot more than an alignment.) You may want to take it in to have that one wheel set to 0 degree camber, until such time as you do the bushings and the full aligment.

its funny. ive only owned cars over 38 years old. which is 19 years older than me. while ive had to do a motor, tons of suspension work, and many other neglected maintenance work. i was reffering to someone neglecting "standard" maintenance. this car has 95k miles on it and has never had a bushing, bearing, or balljoint of any kind. which is very surprising for a performance car. it should have been done almost 25 thousand miles ago. i did get a good deal on this car. i have a CORVETTE that i daily drive for under 10k.

Actually, depending upon where (and how) the car was driven those parts usually don't require replacing on C4's, especially under 100k. Earlier cars were a different matter.

well i would say this car needed them 25k ago. sorry. i wasnt trying to say they are due at 70k miles. it is rather displeasing that someone drove the car like this though..... most people would shrug it off. i guess im just one of the guys that everything has to be in tip top shape. or at least close.

The general technology these cars were designed with is the same as the other line up from the General in the 80-90's. Rubber bushings will deteriorate depending on how old, amount of road time and general treatment.

Ya got to expect the last owner didn't know how to work on vehicles.

Dont ever sell the motorcycle. The new owner will end up on a motorcycle forum complaining about how the previous owner neglected the bike and never changed the oil.
