Common decency is a good habit. Maybe you ought to look into that.

I am thinking of long tubes, no cats to go with my X pipe and magnaflows mufflers. Do you think this would be something that would get the neighbors mad ?

That's my neighborhood! well, it was 10 years ago, but they all died or went into rest homes.

To the OP: But still, straight pipes for what? Because it makes it sound like a race car? If it isn't a race car, don't perpetrate. If it was worth 50 hp, then ok, but like you admitted, maybe there is a 5 hp gain with loss in the mid range...you could actually make your car quicker with mufflers- that's a no-brainer.

I say you have had your fun and I bet your neighbors would all chip in $10 each to send your *** to Midas.

I'm checking the OPs posts and wondering if anyone ever grabbed him and spun him in their hands to see his hair stand on end.

This is a big issue in the Harley community as well. I have SE II's on my bike and while it's a good deal louder than stock, it's not nearly as obnoxious as straight pipes. I'm of the "I like it healthy sounding" school, but not anywhere near annoying. I personally dislike a Harley I can hear bra-a-aping blocks away, but to each his own, it just makes the rest of the citizenry dislike us even more.

To the op: don't be an *** - put an efficient muffler on it. It will still sound great and prevent you from going deaf when you're an old fart.

Not only do I think it's a little too loud, open exhaust just doesn't sound appealing to me. My car is loud, trust me. However, I have mufflers and it sounds pretty damn good.

Ahhh, I'll take a vid and post it here. I still have a little bit of daylight outside....

*edit*

Crap, my dumbass recorded in HD... this is going to take awhile to upload

I would rather deal with anything in the world, but an angry neighbor!

Spintech Super Pro Street's. Give 'em a look/listen, I've got them on my bel Air, and if you need an all out race sounding muffler that'll dampen some sound, they'll do the trick!

It's dark and I didn't take it up in RPM too far. I'm in good standing with my neighbors, even though we can't understand what the hell each other are saying...

Some places have a decibel limit on exhaust notes from what I here. If one of the neighbors has enough pull, you could see a city ordinance in the works.

At least don't rev the crap out of the thing in a neighborhood. It's no different that the losers who play their music so loud that it shakes houses. Which will get you a pretty expensive ticket here.

I set my car up for the way I like it. Its super loud, fast but not super fast and sharp. Maybe I should drop off a 6 pack of shut the He!! up to my neighbors house. He has a saturn solistice, and thinks hes god anyway.
Seems to me that you fancy yourself the same way that HD riders do - the louder the better. I for one can't stand a loud car or bike. All that seems to do is ****-off the people around you and gain you absolutely nothing.

I've had HD's with drag pipes, megaphones and everything else. Finally grew-up and quietened everything down.

Don't bitch when you receive a noise ordinance ticket and have to park the car until you can "fix" it.

I think it's cool. I plan on ordering the muffler eliminators myself. It's a Corvette not Toyota. You shouldn't have to apologize for having a ballzy car.

To OP: I viewed your video sounds nasty, probably a bit loud for DD even for me, and I like them loud. I do try to keep things reasonable in town and such besides the local fuzz doesn't like it anyhow when you make too much noise.

Your car and mine are still WAY quieter than a single Harley that runs thru town with the typical Harley sound. Yet they get no trouble, double stand....I don't understand it at all.

To all: Mine is very reasonable below 2K, above that it barks nicely, I get lots of very positive comments on the sounds. The few negative ones came from folks who think the stock Corvette exhaust is too loud. If you think that, then you should not EVER own ANYTHING remotely sporting. Sounds are an important part of the sports car/muscle car, etc...experience.

Oh and IBTL.
