Poor mans alignment- 94 coupe
I need to toe the right wheel in about a quarter of an inch. I will loosen the tie rod nut then turn the tie rod . (1) Which way? (2) I don't want to damage the boot, does it turn with the tie rod? Thanks PS I don't want to be scolded about being frugal. Toe in is easy to figure out with a couple of home made tools and / or You tube. It's actually pretty cool , plus I enjoy this stuff. I'll tell you how, if you want to know.

Can you use a tape measure? I can get toe very close by measuring the distance from the front of the tires side to side and then the back side to side. Keep the steering wheel straight while making the adjustment.

My boots have a little squeeze clip on the end like a tiny radiator clamp. Squeeze the ends with a pair of pliers and slide it off the rubber. I take the end of the boot and twist it a little to break it loose from the rod.(sometimes they stick to the rod from a film of rust) Smear a little grease under the edge of that rubber tip give it a twist back and forth. The rod will then turn inside the boot without binding or tearing.
