Been a long time since active on here, maybe 15 years. Old dude here, but many Vette's owned in my time. Last one sent to PA, 1990 black on black ZR-1, 15K original miles. Like all of us, "man I should have kept that one". Going to get back in, another C-4, red roadster, with hardtop. Purchase 90 days away. Had an 89 roadster with hardtop, should have kept that one too.
Still have original wife

Welcome back! The addiction never goes away, just lies dormant sometimes. I too have had several "shoulda kept it" Vettes. (Did have brains enough to keep second wife!). Count down your 90 days and prepare to have fun!

Default The 50's

I have had many. When a sophmore in high school, there was a little Chevrolet dealer in the small town I grew up close to. At lunch, we would run down to the Chevy dealer, to see if any new cars came in. Back then, cars would come on the hauler, covered, or delivered at night time. Maybe coming in at night, was just delivery at anytime.
We would look in the garage area first. Once, looking in, there was a 1957 fuelie, red with white cove, and another just like it, I think it was a 56, both brand new, the 56 had two fours on it, which would make it the 245 HP, I may be wrong here. Of course, the 57 was first year for the 283 ci, and the 56n still had the 265 ci.
There was a mech tuning the carbs on the 56, I remember like yesterday, one mech in the drivers seat, working the gas, shut down, start up, and the other guy under the hood. Just hearing these Chevy V-8's run, we were in Heaven. We were late getting back to class that day, but every chance we had, go to the Chevy dealer. Lot of competition back in those days. Ford with their T -Bird engine's, 292, 312, something like that. Chevy, Duntov, changed the picture for good. When the 57 sedan fuelie's hit the track, Ford had to install supercharger's, just to keep up.
