I need help with a mis in my '86 early model corvette. 53,000 miles it has sat most of its live. I have used injector cleaner new fuel filter, air cleaner, spark plugs and wires cap and rotor. checked for vaccuum leaks sprayed MAF cleaner it already looked great. Octane booster even. I am running out of ideas. I see more light cumming though the plugwires with the ones than the old ones. I don't think i should see light at all should I ? Even the new EGR hasn't helped. It runs alittle worse each time i do something. What do i do next?

Sorry, I guess we all should have known that. Back to your question....When you say you see light coming through the plug wires, do you mean they're arcing? If you look at them when it's dark do you see little flashes on the new plug wires also?
Thank you for the feed back. I have to learn this system. Anyway I do not see a arch or hear a snap just some light traveling in the wires in the dark. In the old days the wires would snap and shock the crap out of you. I don't have that. I was suprised to see any at all. They are new from ecklers
I hate to say but if you can see "light" inside the wires then something funny is going on. Electricity will only make light in a wire if something open and it's jumping a gap. Maybe it's some new-fangled wire or something but I have never, ever seen light inside plug wires. Maybe someone else will chime in with these new visible electric wires.
I once had a clear cap on my Dodge Van and you could watch the spark from the rotor. That was kinda cool but glowing wires....I want a set.
You might consider getting some Taylors or some OEM wires though just to be sure. I think the wires are shot.
Dumb question why would you buy wires from ecklers when any of your local auto stores should of had them? Nothing special about Vette wires. Just asken is all
