My 89 l98 started making a ticking sound this morn. Really first cold morn. I thought it was an exhaust leak or distributor but when I popped hood it was obviously from the air pump exit hole. Its been disconnected for 2 years and never done this. The sound is loud enough it is super audible from the outside and inside.
I've always meant to put just a pulley there but don't have money to spend on a 100 dollar simple mount and pulley. Thing that worries me is I just had one fail and lock up and strip the pulley off, right before the track day, so I was forced to get one from a 90 at the junk yard. So this one has been sitting for a while.
Is this sound the beginning of a failure or just nothing? Just making sure....
