Well I have had the car for 8 months now and I have just got my first ticket… I pulled out of my sub-division hit it hard in first and then grabbed 2nd at 70… I backed right out at that point (don’t want any tickets you know) and BAM there is a cop, lights came on and game is over…. 28mph over but gave it to me for 15mph instead. It is a good think that it was dark so he did not know that when I grabbed 2nd it was still sidways.. :nono: :cry
Consider yourself lucky.I got pulled over and was written up by a REAL jack*** Cop last Friday night. Claimed I was going 80 in a 55 past Him. I think not. NOT GUILTY is my plea.
wife just got a ticket for speeding on the bridge. she was going with the flow and the officer told her she was the just the one he decided to stop. (like that helps you pay the ticket any faster) Her car is bright yellow so it kinda screams "here I am"
When I was 17, the first time I got pulled over was in my own neighborhood after doing a burnout. As I turned the corner with tires spinning, the cop was standing next to his car waving me over.
He asked me what I thought I was doing.
My reply:"I just learned how to drive a stick! I'm not used to the clutch!"
He let me go. I know he didn't believe me, but I think because I answered him politely and didn't hesitate to answer with "the truth" he gave me a break. Now that I think about it, I've never received a ticket in my hometown, been pulled over many times, but no tickets(knocking on wood right now).
If you know how to speak in the correct tone and admit you were wrong, you can get out of a lot of tickets.

Re: First Ticket!!!!! (fsr402)
Congrats
Welcome to the club......
Thank goodness for the Driver Diversion Classes here in Nebraska.... Been through 5 classes total to get the ticket dismissed so that it does not show up on my record for insurance purposes......
Funny thing is that none of the tickets have happened while I was in the Vette......
Yes I do have an auto and as for the rev limiter I have not found one.... I made a mistake one time thinking I was in overdrive and was going to drop it into 2nd and got 1st ( I was not in over drive ) that was about 75 - 80 mph... No rev limiter but I was expecting to see pieces parts to come flying out of my hood. Never clamed to be the brightest...
Believe it or not, I'm only 31 and I have over 25 tickets but none in the Corvette!!!!!
I've had the Corvette for over 4 years but I drive the it slow because I'm afraid of how high my insurance will go.
heh I got my first ticket in 4 years with the Vette today..
Was cought on Rt15 heading north enjoying the high digits (not saying how high) :D , on the clear road ahead, as I look behind me. Cop car "..ahh shoot.." (My Fiancee was in the car). I pulled over in a rest area right away and the cop came over and asked the usual questions.. I was ready to hand the keys to my Fiancee to drive the car home as I was sure it's hello suspended license.. But the police officer was very nice I must say.. I wasn't driving like an ahole, just faaast. So he wrote me a $200 ticket for only 'minor' speeding and warned me about not going more than 2x the speed limit next time I pass him.. :D
That ticket will be in the mail paid tomorrow..hehe
Yes.. I am gonna slow down, but it was soo nice and the lane was free for like 5 miles ahead.. I HAD to floor it... :jester
