hatch release

i have a 89 that the rear hatch release is stuck open. the release solenoid and relay have constant power supplied to them causing an undesired release. i have checked all 3 release switches, both doors and console non are sending the release signal. Any help is appreciated as always.

found the problem, wire chafed between pass door speaker and door panel

Did you say 3 release switches?
I have a 92 and only familiar with the door and center console.

Don't forget, that not all years have the switch in the passenger door.
Not sure when they eliminated it, but it is not there on the '96.

yes, it does have 3 switches. cent con and each door. if anyone is wandering or for future help to someone else the tan with white tracer wire completes the ground and thus sends the release signal to the relay and the relay sends the signal to the release solenoid. the tan and white wire was grounded in the pass door
