can he read his owner's manual, it should be in there. My 87 is on the right side of the dash. You have to open the passenger door to get at it. If he don't have an owner's manual try looking there. If not there look around under the dash. there may also be one under the hood, but for bigger circuts, probably not what you're looking for. On edit, oops, didn't notice he had no manual. He really needs to find one, try ebay or the on line corvette parts stores. Also should get a service manual. 100 bucks or so and worth every penny.
Plus the fuses are all labelled on the inside of the fuse box cover.
Had to replace one for radio memory the other day (head unit completely dead) and I almost forgot where the fuse box was hidden
Now that you have told me where the fuse panel is can you tell me where the hatch relay is?
You don't mention a year. Seems to happen frequently but for most look at the rear body panel inner trim panel area. Should be in the vicinity of the latch but I believe later ones it might be taped to the primary harness to the rear right side of latch.
You also didn't mention coupe or 'vert but the location in the 'vert is similar I believe.
One of the best things you can do for your friend is to find him a set of the Factory Service Manuals or "FSM". This is a two book set and was used byt Chevroley technicians to do all necessary maintenance work on a Corvette. The books are year-specific so look for a 1993 FSM set. You can find the books in the C4 Parts For Sale section or they are available on eBay.
The manuals have step-by-step procedures for troubleshooting and repair and they have illustrations for all the components. The Electrical section has wiring diagrams of all of the electrical components and include pictures of the components to include a section showing component locations.

"GEORGE" isn't the OP - he just seems to have stumbled upon a 2 1/2 year old thread and jumped on. The advice for the FSM is certainly good but when your looking for assistance a person might consider "sharing" more information regarding his/her car. Year and body at least!
