Thinking of buying 92 vette C4.On message board ASR,ABS and INFL Rest lights are on. This must be common because I've looked at 3 others with same code. What should I expect for repair & cost.

Do you see this before or after the engine starts? The info panel displays all those lamps as part of a test routine when the key is first rolled over to on; for a couple seconds. Once the engine starts, all the lamps should go out, unless there is an issue. The exception might be the ASR light which comes on if the ASR is turned OFF.
Hard to estimate cost, since there could be a number of different problems that would cause these warnings. If you find a car that otherwise interests you, you could take the trouble to scan the CCM (not the ECM) for codes, no tools are needed. The procedure is in the FSM, and may be in the CF archives, accessed thru "search".

Yes.Before I start it & after the car is running , the lights stay on.ASR light stays on regardless of ASR switch is on or off.
I know alot about cars because I used to own an Auto Supply, but when it comes to all of this computer stuff, I am sort of lost. It has been 20 years since I was in the Auto Supply & things have really changed. I am not a dummy, but what does CCM & FSM stand for? Also CF Archives. Thanks, Bruce
CCM- Central Control Module, monitors and controls various electronic circuitry
FSM- Factory Service Manual, in my opinion, a must-have if you do anything beyond checking the oil
CF archives- Corvette Forum database, composed of threads/posts and covering a multitude of topics and problems, best accessed thru the "search" function on the forum
As you are likely aware, auto repair has evolved into a predominantly electronics-based field, beyond traditional mechanical basics.
Infl restraint light or code is not common on a 92 (is on a 90). The other two are usually on together. Are you looking at salvage cars? That combination often is on after serious wrecks (or floods). If you have to pay someone to fix it, it could get very expensive. Lights aren't codes. What codes are showing? It could be as cheap as a brake level or wheel sensor problem.

That is for sure.Used to, I could repair cars from front to back with my eyes closed.Of course like I said , that was 20 + years ago. Now they have computer programming & a computer garu I am not.As for this car I am talking about, it runs great looks great & all, but I am trying to find out if the ASR light staying on is going to be $$$$ to repair, or just what am I looking at as far as problems in the future. Thanks, Bruce

I don't know what the codes are. I have not gone that far with this deal. I have just looked at the car, drove it, in which it runs great, but the lights are on,just like I had noticed in (3) others vettes that I had looked at. The same lights were on in all of them, so I figured this must be common in the 91 & 92's. Thank you for the info. Bruce

There is a list of possible conditions that cause the ABS and ASR warnings. Some set codes, others do not. All you can tell by the fact they are lit is that the system needs to be looked at. The only other thing that might set off these lights is low brake fluid in the master cyl.
