I took my 84 out for a spin today and at a stoplight I looked up and noticed the see-thru top has a crack in it! :mad It's almost directly above the rear view mirror and runs parrallel to the length of the car ~ about 6 inches long. Is there any way to keep the crack from continuing, like super glue or something?
can you feel the crack with your finger nail, or is it just crazed.....if it is crazed, dont worry about my car has millions of those damn things yeah its annoying but if you get a new top it will probably happen again thats why you might consider picking up a solid top, you can get them pretty cheap and they are sturdier and wont crack.
Not only can I feel the crack with a fingernail, but I could see a razor thin line of sunshine coming thru it! I have no idea how it happened. I also have those little "cracks" in the top that don't go all the way thru - like it's in the tint or something. where would I find a solid top for an 84?

Had the same thing happen to me. As a temporary fix I drilled a small hole at the end of the crack to relieve the stress that was causing it. I then put tape over the crack on the outside, turned the top over and filled the crack and hole with epoxy from the inside. Once the epoxy had cured I removed the tape from the outside. Held up okay for quite a while until I could get a new top and didn't look too bad from 10 feet away.
