I recently blew out my rear driver side tire and replaced it with my spare tire. When the dealer replaced my spare, it appears my spare tire rack hangs down too low. It appears I'm missing a bolt of some kind.
Anyone experienced this problem? If so, any tips on how to fix?
Your spare tire tray is designed to hang in two different positions. Normally it is in the "up" position while it holds the space-saver spare tire. It must be placed in the "down" position to accomodate carrying a full sized tire.
Look at the back of the spare tire tray and you'll see that the hinges have two notches cut into them. Once you've seen this, it will become clear what you need to do to reposition the tray into the upper position.
