just curious who else is running with the LT1 engine,if you could post pictures, list mods and current horsepower and torque, just want to get to know everyone . mainly posting this to see how far you can stretch the power of the LT1.
@JRZ - i know, i just wanted to know who had the LT1's outof the LT4's, also wanted to know what people are doing to increase the horsepower in the LT1's.
My dyno shop and I are planning a twin turbo setup that will get around 500 rwhp.
Shop says for around 6k they could get me close to 1000 rwhp. I don't want that much.
Mine is a 94 LT1.
An LT1 is not that much different, then an L98. Parts just cost more.
The engine will easily handle 500hp, it is the rest of the car that will have issues.
Not so. There's a bunch of LT5's out there in the ZR-1's.
Yup, During the LT1 era (92-96) there were 1,846 LT5s, 6,359 LT4s, and 99,472 LT1s (19,767 of the LT1s were manuals with the rest being automatics, all LT4/5 engines were with manuals).
I'm building mine right now and hope to have a bit over 500 FWHP and it will be a daily driver about 12,000 miles a year. I don't believe there will be any reliability problems and expectations are high. I've built 750 Horsepower LT1's (250 shot) that were reliable so I know the limit's higher than that.
