This past weekend my wife and I drove our 40th coupe on a 1500 mile trip to Victoria, Minnesota and back. It drove like a dream, 26 mpg avg and gas prices had gone done somewhat.
Now that we're back, I have a few maladies to fix. The heater is marginal, it has a minor oil leak, the oil temp gauge reads low (related?), and the battery light flickers (even though the voltage reads high - 15v at speed). I have an SES that was on for a couple of minutes on the way to work this morning to investigate.
Driving a C4 is like being a crew chief on a helicopter. There's always something to fix.
When mine had the battery light flicker but the voltage was ok most of the BAT wire was broken at the eyelet connector on the alternator stud, just a few strands of wire were still connected.
Maybe peel the boot on the stud back & check for a broken wire or loose connection.
