oil switch please help

Default oil switch please help

ok under my distributor i saw alot of oil so i took out my oil switch and it filled with oil leaking, went to a part store and picked up a new one but the new switch is longer and has 3 prongs, while the one i took out has only 1, is this something new gm made or do i have the wrong switch

Wrong switch. Take it back and show them the old one.

....Jack is correct. They gave you the wrong unit, there are two screwed into the adapter.

The early cars had an oil pressure switch (for the fuel pump) with two wires and an oil pressure sender (for the gauge on the dash) with one wire. Later they were combined into one unit with three wires. You have the wrong unit for your year.
