does anyone ever feel that they take two steps forward and one step back every time they do anything on their C4?
It seems that every thing I do on this car i get to do, then go back and partially redo.....
One example, I replaced the clutch master and servo, worked worlds better, but the new master was defective so I have to go back and replace it again.
I installed the new stereo, only to have to go back in and remove it to install the resistors to stop the sys flashing that resulted from the new stereo.
Drives me nuts......
Not restricted to C-4's - pretty much the story of my life !
The good part is after you have taken apart and reassembled something the first time, between acquired knowledge and removed rust the second time goes a lot faster.
My step back usually lands in a dogturd .... (Bad dog, Friz!)
Geez....I can't even drop a duece without remorse anymore.
And yes, we've all been there on these cars. And we doing it willingly. I think of Corvette ownership as a form of masochism....sounds kinda cool when you spin it that way.

Masochism is the perfect description! We pay thousands for the opportunity to $pend more of it on parts, install said parts via a thousand cuts, lie awake nights going through mental troubleshooting scenarios, wind up with heart-stopping breakdowns but in the end, we get the thrill of the Corvette performance and handling and even the much-sought 110 mph woody on mountain turns...
At least you are still moving forward, sometimes I wonder if I'm doing that much... For me having the car as a constant project is about always striving to make it better, and each improvement shows another blemish. Even if the car was perfect I dont think I would be happy with it and still be wanting more.
it's not just you, it's a lot of us. Seems everytime I do something, I have to go back and do it again generally because I'm tying to find out where that left over bolt goes.
Now I've got the dash apart to fix the non-working A/C (fire melted the vacuum lines). I'm finding zillions of cracks everywhere I look. I put reinforcing aluminum plates in there years ago but the good ol' JB Weld didn't stay stuck. This is a learning experience ;-) and hopefully my opportunity to do a major re-engineering of the old repairs and get it right this time. I hate stuff that doesn't stay fixed...
