definitly not msd. msd optis seem to have about a 50% fail rate, and iv heard nothing but bad reviews on msd wires and my personal set failed after only a few weeks. i used a stock delphi opti which seem to have great reviews. if it lasted that long stock, then why not use it again? and i use taylor plug wires which also get great reviews. the optis not a bad job at all, make sure to read lt1*c4's article on it, has step by step instructions with pictures

For my money the GM parts don't get enough love. My '92 has the unvented-type Opti, replaced with a new GM unit a few years back because the original had a little bath under the hood. But the original was over 10 years old, and the cap gasket had dried out, didn't take much water to finish it off. When a car gets old, especially if it spends lots of time sitting, the seals, etc. are prone to drying out.

I used Delco plug wires also, they've been fine, and the lengths were perfect, very important on the LT1.

Ive done MSD billet optis.... had it rebuilt and sold it....

Ive done GM optis, last pretty good till you spin the snot out of it....

Currently doing Dynaspark Opti, and although the quality may be hit or miss, the Customer Service is second to none....
