Door Panels
The early C4 door panels had screws to hold the bottom of the door panel, but the late C4's use plastic Xmas tree type connectors that have some play vertically, allowing the rubber blocks on top of the door to push the panel upward out of the door itself (take a careful look, that's how I figured it out).
I cut down the blocks to the minimum needed to hold the weatherstrip in on both ends of the door and now the door panel sits a lot more lower. It's still somewhat elevated, but nothing like it was.
I also added a screw and insert to the structural tab that is about halfway up the back of the door. Drill a hole and put an insert in the tab, then when you put the door panel in, use a wide headed screw and drive it through the door panel (after lining it up with the insert of course). The early C4 door panel had a screw here, but the late C4's don't. I know, we have both an 87' and a 95'. That'll help hold the door panel down on the back side.
Here is a thread I created and hope this helps
