I have stored my 1986 pace car for the winter, everthing is off except the clock, the clock stays lit, battery tender plus is in storage mode, everything else is fine, when I open the car door the inside lights come on ,when I close the door they go off clock stays lit. Is this ok or is there some way to turn it off, am I doing something wrong? Thank-you for all your help again
Pull the radio fuse. That should kill the clock display.
If the car is in storage for a number of months, you can pull the negative battery cable. Let the maintainer fully charge the battery then remove the negative cable. At that point, you should not need the maintainer if the battery is in good condition.

I disagree. The radio display should not be lit with the keys out of the car. There is a problem you should get fixed. (Does the radio turn off when you open the door?)
Depending on the location of storage (inside, outside, heated, etc.) it can also be bad to leave a battery uncharged for many months. Better to leave the charger attached whenever the car will sit for more than a few weeks. I also feel it is better to keep power to all of the car's electrical systems, but that is just a general preference.

Even without a load on it, a battery will discharge over time.
