Just figured I'd introduce myself here instead of in the intros section. I just picked up my first C4. Car is actually a gift for the wife and I from her father but she doesn't know yet. Anyway... its a 1994 Triple Black Convertible with 120k on the odometer. Looking forward to getting used to being around and good information.
think I might need a bigger garage... man can never have too many toys right?
Also, welcome to the forum. I feel a little funny saying that as I just joined a few days ago. I've already learned a lot and you'll find that there are many helpful and insightful members.
BTW, that's one helluva a gift...especially from the In-laws!!

Appreciate the welcome...
This is what she gets for telling people that she wanted a convertible.... I was given a $6k spending allowance and told to go find it. She likes the C4's as much as I do... so it was a no brainer as to what to look for. Eventually though I will have to buy another one as she really wanted a Black Rose Vert.....
The C4 is a damned good car, and it was the epitome of it's genre in its day. Much like a wife, it demands a lot of TLC and attention.
I don't see me as never having a Corvette in my driveway as long as I live.
Welcome to the club and the lifestyle.
There's a lot of knowledge on this forum, including some guys who worked on the assembly line at Bowling Green. Don't hesitate to ask questions as you need information.
The car needs alittle bit of work, but overall its in really decent shape. Only major things I have found so far are the radio has quit working and the seals around the windows need replacing. I think I did alright for a Craigslist find.
The radio. That's a bummer. If it's the Bose-Delco system, it's an expensive fix. The technology is 20+ years old.
Some people like to keep thing original, so there's a guy on this froum who can repair the Bose-Delco system.
Then there's people like Agent 86 and myself, who love putting the newest technology they can in the radio slot.
Personally, I'd replace the antiquated radio system with something newer, speakers and all. Know this, putting an aftermarket radio in any C4 isn't a simple experience. Whatever you do, check out the Audio thread first, just so you have an idea about the costs and labor involved.
That Vette will become either your second wife or mistress before you know it.
Welcome ---- and very nice looking car. It's a cousin of mine, as I have a 94 black/black, but I have the targa top. I only saw one black/black/black convertible that was a 93 at the dealership where I got mine. Enjoy.
Very nice ride Get those door seals done as soon as possible. There is a lot of wiring in those doors.
These tools helped me out a lot when I did it. You will also need some aluminum rivets and a rivet gun. I think they are 3/16 x 1/2. I got them at Harbor Freight.
This tool is great. You just put it between the panel and the door and squeeze, and the fastener pops out.
There are a few plastic fasteners in the door that have probably become fragile with age. I popped the cap off of one. I picked some up at Pep Boys. They were cheap.
Thanks for the greetings and advice folks.... I spent my weekend hiding the car from the wife who never/ever comes up to the garage. Thankfully the neighbor had a huge barn to hide it behind.
