Default actual build date - ???

has GM provided the actual build dates of the C4? is the build date on the build sheet? i'm looking at an 85 that's 73 VIN units before my son's 85. i'm thinking it was either built on the same day or the day before...

i'm not totally sure but i would think that 73 units away would either be same day build or one before or after. the Corvette was and is still built at a rather slower pace compared to many other line built cars.

You can find out by ordering the build sheet from the National Corvette Museum. You may be lucky enough to have the original above the gas tank and still legible but that is iffy.

The Build sheet for my 95Z is dated 10/31......Yet the Production Date shown on 95Z charts has my car built on 11/10......the original paperwork shows a del. slip for the dealer as 11/7.....so I figure the date on the build sheet may be when it was printed and the actual date of build was somewhere shortly after that?....

There is a date on the build sheet, but it is not the actual production date, see this link to a previous discussion on the subject.

Also keep in mind that the assembly line didn't always produce the same number of cars each day. And there were times when the plant ran two shifts which could explain 70-some cars per day.

Zoner-95- For your 1995, the 10/31/94 date on the build sheet is the date the vehicle order was put into the production schedule. November 11th was two weeks after the build date and that should be about right for assembly and shipping depending on who the selling dealer was. The dealer name will be on the build sheet.

The actual date it rolled down the assembly line can not be proven as far as anybody knows. They didn't keep those records.

The date on that sticker is the Month and Year. No actual day listed.
