89 Speedometer Light Bleed
Any ideas how to fix. Thanks!
If you decide to get into it here is a good reference: http://batee.com/corvette/dcrg/index.htm
Also grabbed a small container of black touch-up paint, the kind that has the little brush in it.
Cleaned the sides of each LCD panel, cleaned the surfaces on the light carriers, and painted the sides of the LCD panels with the touch up paint. Gave it a few coats until I could no longer see light going past the sides, when held up to light.
This is the final product:
You could also have polarizer issues, or worn film in the inside.

Regardless, if you need anything to finish this, I have tons of cluster parts laying around.
And replacement polarizer can be purchased from polarization.com
Let me know.

This is a pic from the RPM gauge side:
And here is the speedo side, with what I believe is film issues:
Does everyone agree?? If so is replacement difficult? Im still learning alot about my C4 and disassembly...

That certainly looks like your polarizing film is done for. It's not extremely difficult, I'll get some photos together. Give me a few mins.
You will also need patience, glass cleaner, and a heatgun.
NOTICE: THERE ARE MANY "GOTCHAS" WHEN DISASSEMBLING AND REASSEMBLING THE DIGITAL DASH CLUSTER! ANY FAILURE TO ATTENTION TO DETAIL WILL RESULT IN THE LOSS OF AN LCD PANEL AND A HEADACHE!
I would STRONGLY recommend that you completely read thru the documentation regarding the cluster at http://batee.com/corvette/dcrg/index.htm
After you have read the aforementioned article, and have disassembled your ailing cluster, retrieve your LCD panels. I'd suggest to do them all while you have the thing opened.
To remove the polarizing film, apply heat lightly to the filmed surface of the LCD panel, work from one side up (start at a corner). Not too much heat in one particular area, or you will cook the panel. Keep the heat moving.
Firmly hold the LCD panel, and begin to peel back the existing polarizing film. If it ever gets to a point where it wants to tear, instead of peel off, or becomes difficult to peel back, apply more heat. Be cautious the whole way. Too much force will break the panel.
Once all the film is removed, let the panel cool. After it's cooled, take a nice, glass friendly cloth, and your glass cleaner, and give the front facing side a good clean, and remove any leftover adhesive residue on the glass. It could also be a good idea to use black touch up paint on the back side / sides of the panel, if your paint is starting to break loose.
This should be your result:
Installation of the polarizing film is easy. Cut to fit, apply. Re-assemble cluster. Done!
Btw. I'm in no way responsible for any damage you cause while performing this procedure, i'm just trying to assist in the process of your repair.

I will stress this one more time: Triple, no, quadruple check your work, to ensure everything is 100% in place on removal, changing the polarizing film, and reassembly.
A visual aide:
Hope this helps!
