Default wheels

I have a 87 vert with stock wheels and tires. My question is what other year wheels will fit my 87, without having to change a lot of parts? I like the what I think is the 91 zr1. But that may be out in left field.
Thanks Guys
Jim

Other than aftermarket wheels custom made for 84 - 87 models ,
anything from a later model C4 will bolt on fine but due to the different offset ( see chart above )
they will require a 3/4" spacer to sit in the correct position

Here is a "spacer", it fits over your existing studs and if it is thicker than ... say 1/2 inch you would need to have longer studs installed. The tourque that is exerted on these longer studs due to leverage can (will) break the studs, especially on Corvettes where there is allot of lateral forces appiled to the wheels and therefore the studs. Not a good situation. The old "weakest link" theory applies, the weakest link WILL break, in this case the longer studs will break. If you don't use longer studs the wheel lug nuts may not have enough threads to be tightened securely, again not good. Spacers are not good option for high performance vehicles in my opinion. Probably fine for a Kia or VW Bug.

In the pic below are 2 adapters (in front of the wheels). They bolt to your exsisting studs and have their own studs installed in the adapter. This eleminates the "leverage' that is available in the spacer application and is much safer...again this is just my opinion.

Default wheels

Thanks alot for the info, I'm going to put wheels and tires on my wish list. Unless I find a set of wheels and tires at a real good price.
