I want to put together a 383. Lunati quoted me a price of $3000 for crank, rods, pistons, bearings, HV oil pump, and dampener. Is this a good deal seems kindof pricey to me but what do you guys think?? Also who else makes a good bottom end? I am looking for the whole rotating assy like whats listed above. TIA
I'm choosing this set up because it's everything, skimping on nothing, and has a 24,000 mile warranty!
From what I've read, this is good for a 10.9x quarter @ 124.
Does that price include state tax?
If so , that's a really good price considering it a lingy. Add $1000 for tax, it's still a good deal compared to other tuners because people really respect john's skills as a tuner.
Thats jsut it, I dont want cheap. I have seen kits with basically the seem setup for nearly $1000 less. Just wondering from the people with 383's who they went with and what kindof expierence they have had and the average price they paid. I know its not cheap nor do I want to put low-quality in my car. Just looking for a little more options. :jester
i got mine from Scoggin Dickey with following components:
This short block features a race prepped LT1 block with Milodon steel
splayed center main caps. It also comes with a Lunati 4340 forged
crankshaft, Lunati Pro Mod 5.850 rods, SRP forged flat top pistons, JE file-fit
rings, Federal mogul race bearings, and is internally balanced.
I've been really happy with mine except for the accel injectors.
