Cheap Light Fix

Just doing a little detail work and I thought I would try regular rubbing compound on the faded plastic exterior lights. Wow, what a difference!!! Rubbed the plastic for a few minutes each depending on condition, rinsed, wiped, applied carnuba wax, and they look 20 years younger and 1000% better. Free and Easy.

ps. I have used 1500 grit sandpaper for commercial applications and it works great for safety and illumination purposes.

I restore headlights using sand paper, and essentially rubbing/polishing compound. If you're gonna sand em make sure you keep them waxed or oxidation will come back. Otherwise bright solutions sells a "kit" that comes with a final protectant that mimics the plastic coating from the factory

My foglight lenses were so pitted you couldn't see through them. I started with, as I recall, 400 wet paper, all the way through 2000 and then polish, figuring, what could I lose? Results 100%.
