Fellow C4 wrenchers- I have a new in-the-package digital multimeter that was given to me some time ago, and have no need for. It is a cheapie, Harbor Freight, but I want to give it to someone who can use it, I'll pay the postage.
I have about 3 of in my tool box at work. They are cheap and cheerful. I've diagnosed many an issue with those meters. If you know how to use one, the work just fine. I always test my meter for proper function before use, just as a fail safe. If you break one, it is only 5 bucks. I think the fuses for a Fluke cost more than that.
For your info and for anyone else who has need, HF often has coupons in various places for a free digital mulitmeter with any purchase. They even include battery and work pretty well. I have used one frequently on electrical gremlins on my Vette and keep one with my tools in the car. I also have one in my Jag for the same reason and have gotten several others that I have given to folks who I have helped that had electrical problems. Nice to have around the house, too.

On the other hand, it's hard to break a Fluke. The one at the house
is over 20 years old and works fine. Battery lasts about five years.
And the Fluke shuts itself off after a while so you don't drain the
battery. The one at work is about 14 years old.

Tired of the bullsh*t with cheap DMMs. Santa brought me a real meter, Fluke 115. Sucker is a "Cadillac" compared to the may "Ugos" I've put up with over the years.
my last inexpensive multimeter lasted several years, I'm sure this one will also , and I'm gratefull for the gift and the heart that gave it, many thanks, respectfully , bob
