I made the mistake of starting up my C4 the other week. Hearing the growl of that 408 again made me want to keep it. If I do, I know I'll have to go through the hassle of swapping out the trans for a TH350. My GF's dad has indicated that he's interested in buying the car. The problem is, I know what he'd do with it. He'd take the motor out and let the car rot. Then he'd put the motor on a shelf and let it rot too. I've had this car for over 10 years, and I have an emotional attachment to it. If it's going to go, id rather it go to someone who will take care of it.
I don't need the money, it's just that I haven't driven it in almost a year. I know if I sold it, I could put the money to use on other things. I have to do a tranny swap in it if I want to drive it at all, and I just don't know when I'll have time for it.
What a predicament. Too much HP :smash: . Wanna throw about 100 of those ponys this way? :D Id say keep it, start it every few weeks (to hear the growl), slowly do the tranny swap, and race the puppy. No sense in letting someone else rot it away. Besides, if it's gonna rot, it needs to rot at home, not in some stranger's garage.
I'd do one of two things with the $$.... Be responsible and pay off my daily driver and finish my remodel, or run down to the dealer and pay cash for a brand new Honda RC51. :D

That's what it sounds like to me, too. If you get too emotional with any car, you'll never be satisfied having it in someone else's garage. I sold a '70 1/2 Z-28 after 17 years of ownership and a complete restoration. I honestly don't miss the car all that much. It was the ride and experience that I miss, which can be duplicated once I get my kids into college and start building that AC Cobra.... :yesnod:
So, you have to ask yourself "Is it the car or the ride/sensation/experience that has you hooked? Follow your heart, man, and you will never go wrong. :)

Definitely the ride/sensation/experience. It's the most powerful car I've ever driven. It'll run circles around my C5.
