Default 84 Headlight replacement

I need to replace the drivers side headlight on my 84. It seems to be a NIGHTMARE to get the headlight in the right position to aceess the hardware for removal. I have googled it and searched this forum but cant seem to find instructions for this job. Would i be ok if I were to disconned either the positive or negative and then turn on the headlights and then "bump" the contact until the light rotated to a good position to access the hardware?? If anyone has the instructions, I would LOVE to see them. I am about to rip my hair out with this...

Also, there is a square shaped metal handle kind of thingy there....silver wire...whats that???

Follow the instructions in the owners manual and replace them from under the hood. It's pretty easy once you position them right by stopping them mid-travel.

I bought a PDF of the owners manual online for around $15, then I found the original under one of the seats when I had the cushions out!

Thanks. I was asking because I couldn't figure out how to get to those screws.
