I need to replace the drivers side headlight on my 84. It seems to be a NIGHTMARE to get the headlight in the right position to aceess the hardware for removal. I have googled it and searched this forum but cant seem to find instructions for this job. Would i be ok if I were to disconned either the positive or negative and then turn on the headlights and then "bump" the contact until the light rotated to a good position to access the hardware?? If anyone has the instructions, I would LOVE to see them. I am about to rip my hair out with this...
there is a **** on the bottom,of the motor, count the turns as you do it and turn it till you can reach the screws for the bucket, after that its simple

OK....do i have to disconnect the battery 1st??? The reason I ask is i turned the **** 1 way and it got tight and stopped.....turned the other way and it began making a noise and vibrationg like teeth were trying to engage....NOTHING EVER GOES EASY FOR ME ! ! !
Also, there is a square shaped metal handle kind of thingy there....silver wire...whats that???
Follow the instructions in the owners manual and replace them from under the hood. It's pretty easy once you position them right by stopping them mid-travel.
Thats the trick......getting it into a position to be able to access the screws.....those devils move FAST....LOL
Thank you for the copy from the owners manual ! !
