Default Used some LUCUS...
Had some issues with my transmission....wouldn't go into any gear past 1st and sometimes slips. It makes a loud grinding noise sometimes...

put some lucas in my tran's fluid while the engine was a little warm.

Seems to have gotten worse and maybe made the engine overheat more than usual. Any ideas or should I just get it worked on?

Sounds like it's rebuild time. When I had the trans in my '85 rebuilt, It lost 2nd, 3rd, and 4th all at once.

Had mine rebuilt for $1400, but that was back in 2004. Don't know about now.

I had mine rebuilt 3 years ago as a "stage 2" for $1,350 , I pulled and replaced myself , thats just the price for the rebuild...WW

When a trans breaks, no amount of snake oil will work. Lingenfelter recommended Rossler Trans and it worked for me.
